Jesus says, "I am the good shepherd...so I sacrifice my life for the sheep." When we hear these words, what does the Jesus who springs into our imaginations look like –– a portrait with blurred edges and soft lighting? A cute, cuddly toy? Maybe time for some re-framing. As we conclude our year in John's gospel, we explore the question of what it means to shepherd, lead and use power the way Jesus does. To help us get into 'sheep mode', we hear from Cass and Caitlin, who got to hang out with sheep in Italy this summer.

Text: John 9:1-41
"Give glory to God and tell the truth," they said. "We know this man is a sinner." He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see."

Text: John 17:20-26
"I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one––as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me."

Text: John 17:6-19
Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.
Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.
