Lent is about nurturing a posture that holds all things lightly...that ensures that our passions are subject to us and not the other way around. The meaning of life is not dependent upon the fulfillment of our dreams and aspirations. Nor is it lost within our brokenness and self-absorption. Lent cleanses the palate so that we can taste life more fully.

Whether Lent is new to you, or you’ve been observing it for years, there are a few ways we want to invite you to practice Lent as a way of identifying with Christ's journey toward the cross.
- Lent begins on Feb 18. During Morning Prayer that day there will be an Ash Wednesday focus. All are welcome. 7am at SOMA (2468 Scotia St).
- Thursday evenings during Lent, Peter La Grand will be hosting a weekly service of prayer, culminating on Maundy Thursday. SOMA, 7:30pm.
- There will be copies of a Lent Prayer Guide on the Welcome Table this Sunday, for anyone who would appreciate a printed resource to guide their engagement with scripture and prayer.
- Here is a pdf version of the prayer guide or here is an online Bible reading plan that we recommend.
- Here is a pdf version of a Lent Prayer Guide by our friends at MB Biblical Seminary.
